The second destination on the list of real Char Dham Yatra is Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka. The temple is located in western part of India, Gujarat. The temple is devoted to Lord Krishna. River Gomati is running near the temple area. The city of Dwarka is the native place of Lord Krishna. The original Temple is believed to be constructed by Lord Krishna’s grandson Vajranabha. The city of Dwarka is believed to submerge six times in the sea and the present day Dwarka is the 7th newly constructed city in the area. The main area of Dwarkadhish Temple is supported by seventy two Pillars and is known as Jagat Mandir. The present Temple was constructed in 16th century. The Dwarkadhish Temple is also included in the sacred texts of ‘Divya Prabandha’ as 108th Divya Desam.
The construction of temple is completed with Lime Stone and the structure is still pristine. Dwarkadhish Temple is 78.3 m high and is about 2500 years old. The temple comprise of two entrances, one is known as ‘Moksha Dwar’ and the other as ‘Swarag Dwar’. The ‘Moksha Dwar’ opens the gateway to salvation while ‘Swarag Dwar’ opens gateways to heaven. The Temple top holds a flag which shows sun and moon. The Temple flag is changed five times a day but the symbols are kept the same.
